About Photomedicine
Photomedicine is an interdisciplinary branch of medicine that involves the study and application of light with respect to health and disease. One of these applications involves the use of low level lasers to the surface of the body. Laser Therapy uses specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to stimulate the body's natural ability to heal.
This is what our centre specializes in – Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT), also known as Cold Laser Therapy.
Low Level Laser Therapy and its Benefits
Through this therapeutic treatment we can manage pain and inflammation while accelerating tissue regeneration. Laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasm, stiffness and pain.
The benefits of LLLT include:
Further information on LLLT is available on the THOR Photomedicine website.
